A Lot Has Happened

2021 was a really difficult year for me. The difficulties started early and lasted the entire year. It seemed that one thing after another – one BIG thing after another – happened to me or someone I loved. So much has happened that it’s left me hurt, broken, confused, anxious, angry, and a bit bitter. I have been trying to get over the grief and disappointment of it.

That hasn’t happened, yet.

But, I try to stay positive. I try to keep God first in my mind and make Him bigger than my problems. I try to trust Him in my trials. It’s not always easy. In fact, it’s hard. Real hard. It’s hard living in uncertainty. But I know that God is the only One that can bring me through. I know that I cannot make it without Him. And, I know that with God, I can do anything (Matthew 19:26, Philippians 4:13)!

So, I keep pushing.

I have to.

There are some things that I continue to deal with, like grief and disappointment, but I know that trouble doesn’t last always (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). I listen to life affirming sermons and inspirational messages to keep my mind and resolve strong. And I listen to gospel rap and worship music to keep my attitude positive.

I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do.

And right now, my focus is on healing, surviving, and growing to the next level.

In the coming weeks, I’ll share my trials of 2021 with you. I’ll share each struggle, how it affected my life, and what I learned from it. Hopefully my stories – my testimonies – will help, heal, and encourage someone.

Even me. I need it.

I’ve struggled a lot this past year. I’m still struggling. But things are looking up.

I’m looking up.
